Details: Volunteers usually assist with assembly of Weekend Backpacks for at risk elementary students (more than 6,000 distributed monthly), build commodity Boxes for low income seniors (more than 3,000 distributed monthly) or assist with donation inspection as needed. Projects are planned according to OFH's distribution needs and specific projects can not requested. Tuesday and Thursday evening sessions, 6:00-9:00
Qualifications: Volunteers must be able to work independently, follow directions, work well with other volunteers and stand for 3 hours at a time. Although we strive to accommodate all physical abilities, most Volunteer Center projects require standing and are not wheelchair accessible. Some heavy lifting may be required, please let staff know if you have physical limitations. Food safety training is provided at the beginning of each session, please arrive on time. Volunteers must be at least 12 years of age unless otherwise noted.
